Globally fishing is a massive percent of the economy and completely shutting it down wourld destroy millions of people however if we keep fishing like we do today there will be no fish left and then the industry will collapse. Then people will be out of jobs and millions will die from either lack of proper food source as fish is the main part of their diet or by poverty as they lose their jobs. To solve this all governmemts need to put a limit on how much people can fish and protect certain areas of the ocean.
The Hong Kong government already reconised the problem of overfishing and destructive fishing. They placed a ban on all trawling during the reproductive season of the local fish. This is good because if all the oceans around Hong Kong are empty of fish many small businesses will close down because many local Hong Kong restaurants are based on seafood.
I won't be affected much, I rarely eat seafood and avoid it if i can.
